NBA Scores & Standings

Ding dong, the streak is gone. The New Orleans Pelicans join the rest of the NBA community by winning their first game of the season, and Anthony Davis can be a little bit less depressed. Dwyane Wade had a dreamy return to Miami, beating the Heat and getting a standing ovation from the fans despite putting on a Bulls uniform. And the Golden State Warriors feel like it’s last year, because Stephen Curry can’t stop hitting 3-pointers while his team destroys everything in its path.

Golden State Warriors v Denver Nuggets

New Orleans Pelicans 112  Milwaukee Bucks 106: It’s over. The Pelicans finally have a win, finally giving Anthony Davis something to smile about. Their all-everything player scored 32 points (averaging 31 per game), but the help from E’Twaun Moore (20 points) and Tim Frazier (15 points) was more meaningful. Jabari Parker led the losing side with 33 points.

Chicago Bulls 98  Miami Heat 95: The Bulls won their first road game of the season, but the story was Dwyane Wade, returning to Miami and playing there for the first time in another team’s jersey. He got a standing ovation, had some fun with Udonis Haslem on the sidelines, and tussled with Justise Winslow. He finished with 13 points on 5-for-17 shooting. Jimmy Butler (20 points), Robin Lopez (16) and even Rajon Rondo (16) covered for him.

Golden State Warriors 125  Denver Nuggets 101: Stephen Curry is sizzling, hitting 7 three pointers and finishing with 33 points, as the Warriors win again in a blowout. Kevin Durant didn’t reach 20 points for the first time in 72 games, and Klay Thompson carried on with his efficiency, hitting 19 points on 50% from the field. The Nuggets still don’t have a win at home, and were led by Jamal Murray, scoring 14 points.

Los Angeles Lakers 101  Sacramento Kings 91: The Lakers continue to get big lifts from their bench as they improved to 5-3 this season, led by Lou Williams with 21 points. D’Angelo Russell had 17, Nick Young helped out with 16, and Julius Randle continues to be the best passer on the team, scoring 15 points to go with 5 assists. The 4-6 Kings were led by 28 points from DeMarcus Cousins.
