The New York Yankees continue to surge up the AL East with their fifth win in a row and the Milwaukee Brewers hit 10 past the Cincinnati Reds, winning their 4th in a row, maintaining their status as the hottest team in the National League.
Pittsburgh Pirates 4 Chicago Cubs 2: The Pirates end their four game losing streak with David Freese and Francisco Cervelli taking charge, finishing with a couple of RBIs each. Gerrit Cole did a good job through six innings, setting up the win.
Philadelphia Phillies 2 Washington Nationals 3: The Nats send the Phillies to a 4th straight loss through an RBI double by Daniel Murphy in the 10th inning, giving his team the walk-off win. Stephen Strasburg looked terrific in 7 innings, striking out 8 while giving up 5 hits.
St. Louis Cardinals 3 New York Yankees 4: The Yankees win their fifth in a row with the first good outing from Masahiro Tanaka this season, and a couple of home runs from Starlin Castro and Austin Romine.
Baltimore Orioles 6 Toronto Blue Jays 4: The Orioles maintain their lead of the AL East while sending the Blue Jays to loss number 9 this season, as they remain winless at home. The O’s hit 4 home runs, including number 3 this season for Chris Davis, who is slugging .727 so far.
Tampa Bay Rays 10 Boston Red Sox 5: Rick Porcello has a disastrous start, giving up 4 home runs, including number 3 this season for Logan Morrison. The first baseman finished with 4 RBIs, as the Rays moved back up to above .500.
Detroit Tigers 7 Cleveland Indians 6: The Indians scoring 5 runs in the 9th inning wasn’t enough, in a game that also had Terry Francona and Miguel Cabrera yelling at each other. Cabrera also hit his second home runs of the season, finishing with 3 RBIs.
Milwaukee Brewers 10 Cincinnati Reds 4: The Brewers win their 4th in a row (4-0 away from home so far) with Eric Thames hitting his third home run of the season, and some solid bullpen pitching, especially by Oliver Drake with 4 k’s in 2 innings of work.
New York Mets 2 Miami Marlins 3: The Marlins win in the 9th thanks to an RBI double by J.T. Realmuto, despite yet another home run hit by a Mets player, this time Lucas Duda, his 4th of the season.
San Diego Padres 2 Atlanta Braves 5: The Braves open their new stadium with an impressive win, getting a solid start from Julio Teheran, a home run by Ender Inciarte and Nick Markakis helping out with a couple of RBIs.
Chicago White Sox 2 Minnesota Twins 1: The Sox win their third in a row, lifted by a 7th inning home run from Matt Davidson. David Robertson struck out 2 to close the game and pick up his second save of the season.
Los Angeles Angels 1 Kansas City Royals 7: Danny Duffy gives up only 3 hits in 7 innings to help the Royals beat the Angels, supported by home runs from Mike Moustakas and Salvador Perez. The Angels finished with just 4-for-30 at bat.
Houston Astros 7 Oakland Athletics 2: Jose Altuve had 3 hits, 2 walks and 2 runs to lead the Astros in another win on the road, Dallas Keuchel struck out 7 and Norichika Aoki hit a two-run homer.
Texas Rangers 1 Seattle Mariners 2: An impressive performance by Felix Hernandez (7.1 innings, 6 hits, 1 run, 3 k’s) helped the Mariners win for the 3rd time this season, helped by Nelson Cruz hitting his first home run of the season.
Arizona Diamondbacks 1 Los Angeles Dodgers 7: Clayton Kershaw outduels Zack Greinke, striking out 8 while allowing only 4 hits and 1 run through 8.1 innings, getting plenty of run support, including 2 RBIs for Justin Turner and a home run by Andrew Toles.
Colorado Rockies 2 San Francisco Giants 8: The Giants are trying to bounce back from a rough start, getting a terrific outing from Johnny Cueto (3-0, 3.79 ERA) and no bullpen mishaps this time. Chris Marrero hit his first home run of the season, Brandon Crawford hit his 2nd.
