Jose Mourinho Wrongly Complains After Clasico Draw

Jose Mourinho didn’t talk before the match with Barcelona. He let his assistant, former Real Madrid player, Aitor Karanka, do the talking. Mourinho couldn’t contain himself after the match. Raul Albiol got sent off after the penalty he caused, grabbing David Villa on his way to goal. Mourinho had that smile on the bench, that look like he’s getting screwed again by the referees.

For once, I would like to finish a match against Barcelona with 11 players.” He said after the game. I don’t know if he saw the replay, but there was no way Albiol was not getting a red card for his foul. He didn’t even argue with the referee. The Real Madrid players hardly argued. Only Mourinho sprang back to life after the match, after the draw, after finally not losing, after maybe finding some positive things to take for the Champions League clashes.

Jose Mourinho decided to attack the referees again, hoping to put more pressure on the next bloke to fill the position in a Barcelona Real Madrid match. He forgot that he got a gift from the soccer gods, as Marcelo dived while Dani Alves made a clean tackle on him. He forgot about the referee’s gift to him, the ref who hardly saw the event. A ref that calls by the reactions of the players and the crowd, not by what he actually saw if he did see anything.

A draw was better for Barcelona. It kept the perception that they’re the better side and for Real a nearly flawless game is needed to beat Barca. Mourinho knows that, and decided to go on the offensive again, crying wolf. It’s really getting old.

  1. Most bias article I’ve ever read!… How did Dani do a clean tackle?.. He didn’t even touch the ball. You have the video posted and yet you still write that, and what do you mean crying wolf… Do you know what he said to the press, that he had to train with 10 man.. And you know what I believe he actually did, every game mourinho had played lead to a man down against barca .. It’s ridiculous …and your an idiot… ” he forgot the ref gave him a gift” that WAS a penalty that should of came with a yellow, leading Alves to be sent off, maybe changing the likes of thr game with 10 mins left and Madrid lifted from coming back with 10 men . And Marcelo didn’t dive!. If you look at the video YOU POSTED you would see Marcelos trailing leg got under Alves cause him to lose balance and fall… If anything Villa did more of a dive, you Barcelona fans are unbelivable, take the fact that your team is NOT INVINSABLE, that you can lose as well… F***ing sore losers… Good thing this wasn’t at the new camp because I’m sure the sprinklers would of came on just like when inter won!. I really hope real Madrid come out on top, and win the next 3! Just so you barca fans can get your heads out of your asses! No class with barca … Messi shooting the ball into the fans !.. I thought he was so humble so nice so honest ??? Ridiculous….

  2. Do you even know what a dive is? This is probably the worst article i have read in a long time you fucking person talking about gift and dive, who even publish this article, atleast biased people do it with style and a bit of sense you just came out with senseless crap. You posted a video and you failed to watch what the fuck is wrong with you barca fans, your team played half the match with 10 men and you still and this is all you can write… This is a senseless piece of garbage which should never have been published or are an alien or something? Get your head straight and we know you cant be fair or objective but the least you can do is be brilliant! Crying wolf my ass.

  3. As a start here is the thing, mourinho’s team (aka real madrid now) played with 10 men against barcelona many times that i think it really shines with 10 more than 11 🙂

one thing i agree with the writer is “it’s getting old” well hell yea ! just for once let us watch an even match regarding player numbers on the field.

even if marcelo dived and even though albiol made a mistake he did not deserve a red card, it is called a tactical foul, and awarding the opponents a penalty kick is more than enough as a punishment for such a foul, i think giving him a straight red card was a bit harsh since albiol did not make a dangerous tackle, he only denied a player a chance to score, which was awarded to the opposite side as a penalty kick, a yellow card accompanied with the penalty would be more than enough.

“dani made a clean tackle on him” well, watch the video again and decide wether he touched marcelo before or after, at best i would expect you to say “at the same time” but not after for sure, which is as i see it a deserved penalty. Real madrid’s draw was a deserved one, and the fighting spirit they showed can only be topped by their own performance with 10 players against 11 barcelona and nearly winning.

“after finally not losing” well, it seems like you did not watch the games where he won against barcelona with both Chelsea and Internazionale.

note: not arguing with the referee does not mean that he was right, it means that the player understands that the decision is final and cannot be changed by a stupid argue which might result in another yellow or red card to another team mate, so think twice before judging since players have different mentalities and someone like albiol should be calm more than anyone else in the field “defender”.

“a draw was better for barelona” well, i think it served real madrid more than it did to barcelona since they are ahead of two championships encounters which practically real madrid has more chance of winning them than winning the league due to points and opponents difference they will be facing (osasuna, sociedad, espanyol, levante, deportivo and malaga for barcelona, while it is valencia sevilla villareal zaragoza getafe and almeria for real madrid), so at least real madrid stopped barcelona’s winning streak and the players now realise that they can win against them, so real had their moral boost despite losing La Liga.

    • @Kael I think I got a lot of people pissed off with this one, eh?

About Albiol – He was the last player. He made a deliberate foul to stop Villa on his way to goal. There’s no way that is not a red card. Not liking Barcelona or being a Real Madrid fan doesn’t change the fact that it was 100% a clear red card.

  4. The card on albiol is obvious a str8 red for denying a “CLEAR” goalscoring opportunity whether professional or dangerous is the same punishment

The penalty awarded to real madrid was also fair as alves made minimal contact with the ball and did hit marcelo even tho marcelo probably could have stayed up but he did hit him in the box as the last man and was deserving of a yellow card

That was NOT a dive a dive is simulation when nothing happens and the player goes down you can clearly see alves hits marcelos legs and the follow through makes it worse. The article is clearly biased however as it reflects the view from a “Barcelona” perspective as opposed to a neutral view.

  5. @Peter yea i think so 😛 … i know for sure it wasn’t your intention to make it seem this way but it actually heppened because you were judgmental a bit, it will always look like biased if wrong 🙂

  6. A bias article. I am a Barcelona fan but the way you wrote it simply explains your love for the Catalans.

    1) It was not a clean tackle by Albiol. It was dangerous and the red card was rightly given. You can’t put your arms around a player’s neck and hang. The team did not protest because they simply KNEW it was his mistake.
    2) Daniel Alves touched the ball first, agreed. Marcelo even told Daniel Alves that he dived in. However, in case the referee DID give a penalty, the red card was inevitable and should have been given.
    3) Big games do not come without big controversies and in this case the referee did not give out his best in a match like this.
    4) Lionel Messi should have gotten a yellow card for kicking the ball towards the fans. However, Iker Casillas should have gotten a yellow card in the first half and Barcelona should have been awarded with a penalty kick.
    5) Jose Mourinho is a negative coach with negative tactics. You people don’t have an idea how hard it is to play away from home and keeping the ball for 72% of the time is quite hard against a team like Real Madrid. Barcelona were definitely the better team.
    6) Real Madrid were direct in their approach but the chances created by the Catalans were far more threatening than what Madrid created. Just imagine if David Villa was not out of form throughout the game. The all time best goal scorer had three great chances to kill the game off.

  7. @Ahmed Mehdi
i agree with the first point, the second one no, he touched marcelo before touching the ball, watch the video again and again till ur convinced … use the pause function.

mourinho is a negative coach ? are you really defining football now ? it’s a matter of the spectator’s preference, so it’s not called negative and barcelona’s is not attractive .. they are simply different.
possession is not that much important and mourinho proved that too many times that you people obsessed with with should give up a little bit .. chances for real madrid were not that threatening ? well didn’t you see adriano’s save ? and ronaldo’s free kick ? or sami khedira’s last minute shot ?

even if you’re trying to be neutral you can’t, you just see things in a different way because you are a fan of barcelona 🙂

other statistics that you might be interested in are shots on target and corner kicks .. madrid had 11 shots while barca had 9, 7 corner kicks while barca none ..

I asked this question in some other place on the web: when did the possession become more important than the match outcome ? and who defines attractive or negative football ?
