Premier League: Huddersfield vs Newcastle, Tottenham vs Chelsea Goals, Highlights & Table

Marcos Alonso

Two title contenders in Chelsea and Tottenham went head to head at Wembley, with the defending champions coming out on top thanks to a surprising double by Marcos Alonso. Earlier, a matchup between two promoted clubs ended in a surprising win for Huddersfield, which leaves Newcastle without a goal or points after two matches this season.

Huddersfield 1  Newcastle 0:  A match between two promoted teams ,one of them quite familiar with the Premier League and the other completely new to the occasion. It didn’t matter. Huddersfield won for the second time, joining Manchester United and West Brom at the top of the table, as a 50th minute goal by Aaron Mooy did the trick. Rafa Benitez’ players continue to look bad, remaining scoreless after 180 minutes.

Tottenham 1  Chelsea 2: Chelsea came in with a very patched up lineup against a strong and confident Spurs side, but twice it was Marcos Alonso with one first half free kick and also the game winner in the 88th minute, that provided a surprising win for the Blues, managing to put the stunning loss at home in the previous week behind them. Spurs were the more dangerous side for most of the match, but were a bit unlucky but mostly inaccurate in their attempts to win their Wembley opener.
