While the Philadelphia have been very impressive through their first six games of the 2017 NFL season, the memes following Thursday Night Football focused on the bad night the Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton were having.

It’s understandable. Just last week Cam Newton made himself a target for rightful criticism by saying something idiotic to a female reporter. And in general, from the clothes he wears to the dabbing he has turned into such a popular celebration of touchdown and everything, Newton is easy to make fun when things don’t go his way.

And he also had a bad game. He ran for a touchdown and threw for one as well, but he also tossed three interceptions, against an Eagles defense that is able to give a so-so running game and a still learning Carson Wentz plenty of cushion to make mistakes and still live through them.

Along with the Packers and Falcons, the Eagles seem like one of the favorites to win the NFC. The Panthers? A good start hasn’t been able to hide the flaws in this team, including the inconsistency of their franchise quarterback.
