There’s something to be said about footballers who prefer the magnificent and even taunting over the pragmatic and efficient. Club Leon of Liga MX have such a player – Andres Andrade of Colombia, who showed his dazzling dribbling skills in such a way that it humiliated Torres Nilo, who couldn’t help himself but retaliate.
In the league match between Leon and Tigres, with Leon leading 1-0 (held on to the lead) and less than 3 minutes left in the match, Andrade, playing for La Fiera since June 2016, decided he was going to show off his ability to control the ball.
Mexican international Torres Nilo tried to get the ball out of his legs and Andrade taunted him with his dribbling. Nilo, frustrated, went for the ball again, and Andrade focused on making Nilo look like a fool, forcing him to miss with the tackle once again. There wasn’t a third time, as Nilo simply chopped Andrade, and didn’t wait a very long time for the referee to send him off.
Following the 1-0 win, Leon are third in Liga MX with 22 points, five behind Monterrey. Tigres, Monterrey’s big rivals are 5th with 19 points, but also a game in hand.
