It’s going to be a long season for the Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry. Meme makers were all over the crumbling dynasty, just like Kawhi Leonard, Patrick Beverley and the Los Angeles Clippers were in the Chase Center abysmal debut.

Steve Kerr put it best after the game: This is real life. The Warriors are a brand new team. A far inferior team to the different versions of the last 5 years. Stephen Curry will have to carry this team on offense almost each night. Defenses will focuses on him. The defensive load on Draymond Green’s shoulders is much bigger too. It’s a whole new world for them.

And the Clippers? As Dwyane Wade tweeted, the Clippers are who we thought they were. Merciless, like their stone-faced leader, the best player in the NBA.

The Warriors will have better nights. The Clippers will have worse. But history will show that Leonard closed out the Oracle arena with a win, and opened the Chase era with a win, while thousands of Warriors fans heading for the exits early.
