Wounded Man City Awaits Fired-Up Chelsea

The biggest game in the English Premier League this weekend is no doubt the one between Manchester City and Christian Pulisic’s Chelsea. The two rivals are coming into this clash in a totally different mood. The Citizens lost the latest EPL clash against Liverpool, while Blues have six consecutive wins. Etihad will see one fantastic game, with two offensive-minded teams involved.

Defense Making Problems for City

City didn’t start the season as planned. Guardiola’s crew has nine points fewer than Liverpool and is already in serious danger of being eliminated from the title race. What presents a huge problem for the hosts, is the defense. Over the previous six games, they allowed goals in five, and sometimes the attacks can’t cover up all those mistakes of the back line. Though, they still are the most efficient team in the competition, scoring almost three goals per game. Aymeric Laporte’s absence presents a headache for Guardiola, and besides him, Bernardo Silva, Zinchenko, and Sane won’t play this match.

Chelsea, Pulisic Aiming a Win

Pulisic and his Blues are fantastic recently. Chelsea posted six Premiership wins in a row, and the American had a few instrumental games. He scored several goals, notching a “perfect” hat-trick against Burnley, but is doubtful for this one. Team USA’s leader has groin problems. Frank Lampard created a team full of players from the domestic youth academy, who are hard-core Blues. It is why his side has so much passion and energy, and besides that plays the most eye-catching football in the league. It was a rare occasion that their matches end with under 2.5 goals. Simply, the Blues want to score as many goals as possible, regardless of the result.

Coming into this match, the majority of Chelsea’s fans still has nightmares over their last visit to Etihad. The Citizens humiliated their big rival, beating them 6-0, and inflicting the club from Stamford Bridge the most horrifying loss since the Roman Abramovich era began. The Blues will most definitely want to revenge that, but on the other side, Man City desperately needs three points. Everything indicates a clash with lots of goals, probably on both sides, so if you want to bet, this is the perfect chance.
