Seattle Seahawks Take Down Philadelphia Eagles, 17-9

The Seattle Seahawks posted a massive road win against the Philadelphia Eagles. Pete Carroll’s guys beat the former champs with 17-9 and improved their score to nine wins and two defeats.

Injury-Massacred Eagles

The guests from Seattle used numerous problems of the hosts, to improve their record. The Eagles were without a starting running back, three of their leading receivers, and one offensive lineman. Name by name, Jordan Howard, then DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, right tackle Lane Johnson.

For a team in such a good shape as the Seahawks, it was a present they simply couldn’t refuse. Though, with all those issues, the Eagles didn’t want to get down, and that especially goes for their defense. They managed to sack Russell Wilson six times, for 26 negative yards.

Seattle’s Running Game Decided This one

However, they didn’t have any solution for Rashaad Penny, who rushed for 129 yards. He had a 58-yard touchdown, the one who pulled away the guests in the early part of the fourth period.

Jake Elliot broke the bank with a 28-yard field goal, at 7:29 of the first. But a minute and a half later, Malik Turner made a superb catch for a 33-yard TD to push the visitors ahead. Everything was excellent in that action. Chris Carson took the ball, deceived a few defenders, and threw it back to Wilson, who already saw Turner down the field.

Seattle’s QB had 200 yards for a TD and an interception.

On the other side, Carson Wentz had 256 yards, but with two interceptions, His single touchdown toss was to Zach Ertz 20 seconds before the end of the match. Ertz had 91 yards in 12 catches. JJ Arcega Whiteside had 43 on two, one 30-yards long.

On the other side, the situation with a passing game wasn’t that shiny for Carroll’s guys. The guy with the most significant stats was Tyler Lockett, who had 38 receiving yards.

Up next, the Seahawks (9-2) head back home, as they await the Minnesota Vikings next Monday. It will be one of the most important matches of the season for both sides.

On the other hand, the Eagles travel to Florida to meet the Dolphins, on the next Sunday.
