Thanksgiving wasn’t kind to the Dallas Cowboys. Neither were the Buffalo Bills. Nor the memes about another loss, making fun of the team, Dak Prescott and perhaps soon-to-be-fired head coach, Jason Garrett.
The Cowboys picked up a second straight loss, this time 26-15 to the now 9-3 Bills. Meanwhile, the Cowboys fall to 6-6, which means that by the end of this weekend, their lead in the NFC East might be erased, with the Philadelphia Eagles one game away.
All the metrics are showing the Cowboys, be it through Dak Prescott’s numbers or the defense’s performances in most games, should be with a much better record. But it’s not happening. Another promising season seems to be fading into something gloomier. Even a playoff berth might not be enough to color it differently.
Jerry Jones isn’t happy. The fanbase isn’t happy. With four games left in the season, there are a lot of questions surrounding this organization. Mainly, should the man on the sidelines, the team’s head coach since 2011, still have a job.
Ohio State are likely to beat Michigan. Again. Will it get Jim Harbaugh fired? Probably not. Perhaps it depends on how bad a loss it’ll turn out to be.
Since taking the head coaching job, Garrett is 83-65 in the regular season. He’s led the team into the playoffs three times, with a 2-3 postseason record.
The Cowboys are still first in the NFC East, and have a very winnable remaining schedule (Bears, Rams, Eagles, Redskins). But that doesn’t promise anything.
