A pre-lockout draft, like the one in 1998? Big meeting today, and we’ll now more tonight. For now, the 2011 NBA draft promises less talent than usual but the usual hopes and dreams of players and teams alike, mostly the Cleveland Cavaliers who chose not to trade any of the picks, going for Kyrie Irving from Duke as the Number one pick.

Number 3 – Enes Kanter (Kentucky), C, to the Utah Jazz

Utah get another Turkish center, potentially the biggest prize in this draft. Teams always drool over big men, despite the fact that he missed an entire season in college and didn’t play basketball for a year.

Number 4 – Tristan Thompson (Texas), F, to the Cleveland Cavaliers

College Stats – One year, averaging 13.1 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.

Number 5 – Jonas Valaciunas (Lithuania), C, to the Toronto Raptors

How surprising that the Raptors took a European. Valaciunas (only 19 years old), if he lives up to the expectations, can shift Bargnani to the PF position where he is much more comfortable.
