Chelsea beat Everton 2-1 at Wembley, Win Fifth FA Cup

Despite going behind less than 30 seconds from the start, Chelsea dominated and won their 5th FA Cup, their second in the last three years and third this decade. Louis Saha put Everton 1-0 up 23 seconds from the start with a great strike, but Didier Drogba made it 1-1 20 minutes later. Frank Lampard scored with his left foot from long range to give Chelsea the lead and eventually the win.

Everton were looking for their first FA Cup win since 1995 but despite the early Louis Saha goal (should have been cancelled, Pienaar was offside) Chelsea controlled the match form top to bottom and even had a legal Florent Malouda goal ignored by the ref and his lineman, as the TV shots showed the ball crossed the line.

Ashley Cole won his fifth FA Cup winners medal, the first player to achieve that since the 19th century. Hiddink leaves with Chelsea looking strong and stable unlike their Scholari phase, maybe leaving their fans wondering what would’ve been if Guus was there earlier than February.

Louis Saha, 1st minute, 1-0 Everton

Didier Drogba, 21st minute, 1-1

Frank Lampard, 71st minute, 2-1 Chelsea
