MLB Opening Day Starters by Nationality (Infographic)


A few months ago, when the 2011 MLB season kicked off, 284 players made their opening day starts. This is a breakdown of the players by nationality. The Result? Baseball players, pitchers and the rest, came from 11 different nations. The United States, by far, had the most representatives, just shy of 200. I was actually surprised to see that Mexico had only one player to start on opening day. The rest of the numbers are just here below.
