Does Chris Bosh Know Something We Don’t?

Chris Bosh expects to be in training, with his Miami Heat teammates, pretty soon. NBA Lockout or no, Bosh, an NBA finalist just a few months ago, plans to be ready in time for training camp. I guess the fact that hardly any progress has been made these past three months doesn’t really gets him worried.

Bosh has been busy since the Heat dropped a 2-1 lead in the finals series, eventually losing to the Dallas Mavericks 4-2. He got married, and then traveled. In his words, he was M.I.A. from MIA. He was crushed after the finals. All the Heat’s players were. I’m guessing LeBron James, who takes more heat than anyone from anything he does, was more than others, but he’s been having his fun this summer. Playing basketball with friends while not really being worried about consequences and criticism, a lot of it, probably makes this lockout fun for some of the guys.

Bosh has also been taking a part in some entertainment stuff – He’ll be on an episode of Law and Order and he’s heading to New York next week – Fashion week events, catching the finals stages of the US Open and getting to see the Dallas Cowboys play the New York Jets. Bosh, if you forgot, is a Cowboys fan, a Dallas native. He’s also promoting the new Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 3 video game along with other NBA players.

But Bosh, putting all the fun stuff aside, is getting ready for a new season, and a new challenge. He’s been working out at the University of Miami, and as summer comes to an end, will take his training regime up a notch. As far as he’s concerned, training camp is starting on time (October 1, but it won’t happen, you know that).

Besides staying in shape, putting the bitter end to last seasons is something Bosh is way past – There’s no reason to hold on to it except motivation. I let it all out and within 24 hours I was done. I/We talked about it until I was blue in the face. Once you’re done with that, you have to move forward.
