Devin Hester proved he’s the best show in the NFL with two touchdowns, the Green Bay Packers remain perfect, the Patriots beat the Cowboys with a dramatic finish and the surprising 49ers were the first team to beat the Detroit Lions.

Dallas Cowboys (2-3) 16  New England Patriots (5-1) 20

Probably the most exciting game of the week, the Cowboys were able to contain one of the best offenses in the league for most of the game, but Tom Brady’s 8 yard pass to Aaron Hernandez with 22 second left on the clock kept the win in Foxboro as the Cowboys lose another close one.

Carolina Panthers (1-5) 17  Atlanta Falcons (3-3) 31

Cam Newton got intercepted three times while Matt Ryan was solid and Michael Turner, the key factor (for the millionth time) ran for 139 yards and two touchdowns.

Indianapolis Colts (0-6) 17  Cincinnati Bengals (4-2) 27

Andy Dalton with 264 yards and a touchdown keeps surprising everyone, just like the Bengals, the next team to beat up on the pathetic Colts who just can’t get anything going for them without the Peyton Manning Lucky Charm around their neck.

San Francisco 49ers (5-1) 24  Detroit Lions (5-1) 19

Alex Smith was pretty bad, back to his usual self, but Frank Gore with 141 yards and a touchdown and a blitzing defense (5 sacks, 10 QB hits) gave the Lions their first loss of the season.

St. Louis Rams (0-5) 3  Green Bay Packers (6-0) 24

The champions are still perfect, and a leg further than the rest. The Rams? Sam Bradford keeps getting no protection, getting sacked and hit in big numbers by big guys. Rodgers had another beauty, with 310 yards and three touchdown passes.

Buffalo Bills (4-2) 24  New York Giants (4-2) 27

The expected slide or a bump in the road? The Giants had Ahmad Bradshaw do most of the work, running for 104 yards and three touchdowns, while Ryan Fitzpatrick got sacked three times and intercepted twice, both by Corey Webster.

Jacksonville Jaguars (1-5) 13  Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2) 17

The Jags’ quarterback problems continue as Gabbert threw for only 109 yards and got sacked five times, while Rashard Mendenhall ran for 146 yards and a touchdown.

Philadelphia Eagles (2-4) 20  Washington Redskins (3-2) 13

The skid finally halted as Rex Grossman had a nightmarish day, getting intercepted four times and the Redskins got only 42 yards on the ground. LeSean McCoy ran for 126 yards and a touchdown while Micheal Vick threw for 237 and ran for 54 more. Vince Young got his single attempt intercepted.

Cleveland Browns (2-3) 17  Oakland Raiders (4-2) 24

The Raiders lost Jason Campbell to injury but wouldn’t lose, honoring Al Davis at the Coliseum. Darren McFadden helped the passing crew with 91 yards on the ground and a touchdown while the Browns managed only 268 offensive yards.

Houston Texans (3-3) 14  Baltimore Ravens (4-1) 29

Life is hard for Matt Schaub without Andre Johnson, throwing for 200 yards, avergaing only 5.9 yards per attempt. The Ravens didn’t do wonderfully in the air, but had Ray Rice with 101 yards and two more running touchdowns (one by Flacco) and great defense to carry them through.

New Orleans Saints (4-2) 20  Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-2) 26

Things have gotten very interesting in the NFC South, as Drew Brees got intercepted three times. Josh Freeman had one of his better games with 303 yards and two touchdowns and got 109 yards of help on the ground from Earnest Graham. Interesting stat – No sacks were made in the game.

Minnesota Vikings (1-5) 10  Chicago Bears (3-3) 39

Jay Cutler survived the home outing with a good game (267 yards, two touchdowns) while the Bears sacked McNabb and Ponder five times, twice by Julius Peppers. Devin Hester caught a touchdown and returned a 98 yard kickoff for another score, later leaving the game with an injury.
