Stoke City did beat Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv 3-0 in Europa League action with goals from Kenwyne Jones, Cameron Jerome and Ryan Shotton, but the most memorable moment of the match came from Maccabi Tel Aviv defender Yoav Ziv.

The full back, who was responsible for Cameron Jermoe’s sending off in the first half, felt he was fouled near the linesman and out of frustration kicked his boot, hitting the linesman, probably by accident.

That really didn’t leave the official any choice but to send him off in one of the most bizarre incidents seen this year in European soccer.
