Lionel Messi scored a hat trick, passing the 200 goals milestone in his Barcelona career and also improving to 42 career Champions League goals (passing Alessandro Del Piero) as Barcelona beat Viktoria Plzen 4-0 while both Arsenal and Chelsea failed to win, home and away.

Group E

Chelsea managed only a 1-1 draw in Belgium against Genk, as the Londoners lead through Ramires in the first half, only to play a disastrous final 45 minutes, conceding the equalizer from Jelle Vossen. Valenica got back into qualifying contention with their 3-1 win over Leverkusen with goals from Jonas (fastest goal in the history of the Champions League), Roberto Soldado and Adil Rami.

Group F

Arsenal and Marseille still lead the top of the group and finished their game in England with a goalless draw, while Borussia Dortmund got their first win of the campaign, beating Olympiakos with a Kevin Großkreutz goal.

Group G

The toughest group to read, and the most surprising so far. APOEL Nicosia grabbed the top spot with a stunning 2-1 win over FC Porto with a dramatic Gustavo Manduca goal in the 90th minute. Zenit beat Shakhtar 1-0 through Nicolas Lombaerts.

Group H

Barcelona had no problem in the Czech Republic with Lionel Messi scoring a hat trick and another goal from Cesc Fabregas as they beat Plzen 4-0, while AC Milan struggled in Belarus, finishing their match with BATE Borisov in a 1-1 draw, with goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Renan Bressan.
