Maybe it’s knowing that he might be getting a teammate like Lamar Odom very soon, or maybe it’s just Deron Williams getting used to European Basketball and life in Turkey. Whatever it is, Deron Williams is one fire lately, yesterday scoring 50 points for Besiktas in their 105-94 win over German team Gottingen.

Kevin Love turned an offer from the Istanbul-based club this week, and Williams is pushing for an NBA teammate of high caliber. Besiktas’ injury problems, worsened by Semih Erden (former Cav) going down, reside mainly in the frontcourt. Carlos Boozer and Loul Deng have also been approached with offers.

With the NBA lockout nowhere near ending, Williams might be getting comfortable, with no pressure of an immediate return to the United States on his shoulders. He’s averaging 20.5 points and 6.8 assists in league games for Besiktas, leading them to a 5-1 league record so far, second in the league.

Williams’ NBA career high is 42 points.
