Peyton Manning isn’t retiring, as far as we know, despite whatever Robb Lowe tweets. Andrew Luck still isn’t a Colts player, although unless something very drastic happens, he’ll probably be the first pick in the 2012 NFL draft, to be the future quarterback for the Colts. Whoever does start for Indy at QB next season makes a big different for the odds makers in Vegas.

We don’t know who will be playing in the 2012 Super Bowl, but that hasn’t stopped Vegas odd makers from releasing their super early odds for the 2013 Super Bowl, or XLVIII if you prefer the Roman numerals. Favorites? Green Bay Packers (5:1), New Orleans Saints (6:1), New England Patriots (8:1) and the Steelers, Eagles and Ravens all tied with 12:1. The least likely to reach the big game?

Four teams got 100:1 odds – The Cleveland Browns, the St. Louis Rams and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Washington Redskins, with Rex Grossman, also have the same odds. Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos are at 50:1.

But what about the Colts? Big difference if Luck or Manning are the projected starting quarterbacks. If it’s Peyton Manning, the Colts are 25:1. Yes, his return, a healthy one at that, is enough to put the worst team in the NFL this season in a position, although an outsiders shot one, to actually win it all. With Andrew Luck? Odds drop to 40:1.
