SBW, despite rumors, will still be playing Super Rugby a month from now. He did leave the Crusaders after only one season with the side, moving on to Waikato to play for the Chiefs, but he didn’t make the move everyone thought he would to either more money (Japan or France again) and what was the more likely one – a switch back to Rugby League.

But Williams wants a piece of everything, and after already doing his thing in Rugby League and winning the World Cup with the All Blacks, despite his unimpressive form during the tournament at home, with Williams getting more credit from the lady fans in the stands when taking off his shirt than from pundits for his actual on-field contributions, is boxing the real passion pushing him forward?

Rugby has a place in his life, but with no World Cup or an All Blacks spot to worry about for at least two years, you have to wonder what a man, who seems concerned about money and fame just as much as he is about his Rugby, or more accurately where will he pursue his next thrill.

Money in boxing? Certainly not in New Zealand, and despite his 5-0 record with 3 KO’s, there’s no real way of evaluating Sonny Bill’s chances before he moves on to a bigger pond, with a bit more competition from predators. In Rugby? There’s more money outside of New Zealand, with Williams already spending a few seasons with Toulon before the NZRU called him back.

It’s rumored he turned down Six Million for three years to stay with Toulon, but with a World Cup trophy already among his achievements, what’s stopping him this time?
