One thing is clear – Andre Villas-Boas’ recent results and the direction the club is taking this season may soon cause the owner to fire yet another manager.

A 1-1 draw at home against Birmingham, a Championship side, is just the next in a long string of disappointing results that have not only seen Chelsea drop far and out of the Premier League title race but also in risk of not placing in the top 4 for the first time in what seems like an eternity.

Rumors from the match spoke about Didier Drogba giving his own half time talk in the dressing room to fire up his teammates, resulting in Daniel Sturridge managing to salvage the game with a 61st minute equalizer. Chelsea also missed a penalty kick in the first half, Juan Mata being the one to blame, just three minutes after conceding the opener.

Again, it wasn’t just bad luck. Chelsea struggled with creating clear cut chances, with the game lacking any kind of flow. Fernando Torres got the start, but didn’t see any action in the second half, as Didier Drogba came on for the failing and super expensive Spanish striker.

Villas-Boas is insisting his job security does not rely on the upcoming next few matches. But his stance and his interviews scream pressure and insecurity. Abramovich? Remains quiet, but showing up at the training ground and team meeting with him being involved must mean he’s getting tired of the results.
