Barcelona Still Champions League Favorites According to Betting Odds

Real Madrid having a 10 point lead over Barcelona in the La Liga doesn’t change the fact that the oddsmakers still view the current European champions as the favorites to lift the Champions League trophy once more at the Allianz Arena in Munich on May 19, 2012.

Barcelona have dropped a win only once this season in the competition, a 2-2 draw at home against AC Milan in the group stage. They began the knockout stage with a comfortable 3-1 away win against Leverkusen. Most bets will give you odds around 1.4-1.3 for gambling on the safe bet.

Real Madrid are the second choice to win the trophy, despite finishing the group stage with a perfect six for six and a 19-2 scoring record. Before their knockout stage opener in Moscow, most Real bets are going at 2.5-2.75 multiplier.

Bayern, who have been slipping of late in the Bundesliga are still considered by many to be the dark horse in the competition. A relatively comfortable draw, with FC Basel as their opponents, should see them make the Quarter finals. Bayern bets go for anything between a 5 and 6 multiplier.

AC Milan, who destroyed Arsenal in the first leg (4-0), will earn you 12 times your bet, while Chelsea, despite everything that’s going on, being the last English hope, will earn you 14 for every 1 you put down. Inter at 25, Napoli at 40, Benfica and Lyon at 50 and from here, it gets really desperate, and profitable.

Zenit go for 80-1, Marseille at 150-1, Arsenal at 300-1 (So you’re telling me there’s a chance?), CSKA Moscow going at around the same odds, Basel at 400-1, APOEL with a 300-1 shot as well and Bayer Leverkusen, after losing at home, are at 750-1.

Most popular choice for a final? Barcelona vs Real Madrid at 3-1.
