PAOK FC fans, and especially the Gate 4 supporters club, love flares. It’s hard to decide on the best football & fire video ever, but PAOK fans certainly have a high place reserved for their fireworks displays. Legia Warsaw fans, at least in their latest European match with Sporting of Portugal impressed not by pyrotechnics, but by creativity – a coordinated snowball attack.
PAOK have solidified their place as the number three team in Greece these past 18 months, and had a decent run in the UEFA Europa league which will probably end soon enough against Udinese. They are still waiting for an end to their title drought, not winning the league since 1985 and the Greek Cup since 2003. That doesn’t stop their fans from standing out among the Greek club fans with their fireworks displays.
For Legia Warsaw fans, titles haven’t been such a rarity. The won their last league title in 2006 and the Polish Cup last season. They also placed third, like PAOK, at the end of the 2010-2011 season. As we said, fire isn’t always the only thing to make an impression, and Legia’s fans bombing Sporting’s warming up players before their Europa League clash has to be one of the more original ideas, at least in terms of coordination and organization, we have seen from supporters in quite a while.
