Younes Belhanda scored twice for Montpellier in their first win over away at Marseille, but his second goal, an acrobatic overhead kick, will probably be crowned as the goal of the season in France and one of the best around the world. Being part of the club’s (potentially) first league title will also be a nice way to end the season.
And as much as Marseille deserve a post regarding their fall from grace, falling to ninth in the Ligue 1 table, hoping that they’ll still make it into Europe through the League Cup and the final against Lyon this weekend, the story has to be Montpellier, a team that finished 14th last season. A team that is taking on the millions of PSG and winning so far.

Of Olivier Giroud, scoring his 19th goals of the season against Marseille, and Younes Belhanda, the French born Moroccan, who’s double put him at 10 goals this season, and another player on the long list of La Paillade players who will be heavily courted this upcoming summer by bigger teams than his current club.
With the win, Rene Girard’s side now have a three point lead over PSG, seven matches left to play. Montpellier still have to visit Toulouse and Rennes, the toughest of their seven remaining fixtures, with their away form not exactly scintillating. At home they’re pretty much unbeatable most of the time. PSG have a tougher away outing at Lille, with the exiting champions still hoping to make a run for second place.
