Manchester United aren’t halting their transfer ambitions in account of the Euro, moving in on highly touted Chilean talent, 18 year old Angelo Henriquez of Universidad De Chile.
Having only played for the U-15 and U-17 teams of Chile’s national side, Henriquez will have to become a Premier League player through a ‘special talent’ work Visa. If his bid is rejected, than United, still intent on purchasing the player, will probably loan him out to a club in Europe until he qualifies for the UK permit.
Manchester United have been following the talent who actually played tennis until the age of 13 in hope of becoming a star on the clay courts for over three years, signing an agreement with Universidad de Chile for purchasing rights (€4 million) valid until 2014. His transfer from South America to Europe will cost United a further £3 million.
His performance in the 2011 South America U-17 championship, in which Henriquez scored 3 goals in 4 matches, and his form for his club, scoring 8 goals on his first 10 appearances with the club, have convinced Alex Ferguson that he might be a future building block for the club. This will be United’s second signing of some impact thus far, with Shinji Kagawa already agreeing to leave Dortmund for the Premier League Runners-Up.
Inter and AC Milan after Silvestre
In other ‘important’ transfer news, Argentinian centre back of Palermo is being chased by both Milan clubs. He has spent only one season with Palermo after coming over from Catania for €7 million, but team president Maurizio Zamparini has announced that Silvestre has requested to leave the club for something bigger and he will be allowed to do so, for the right amount.
Inter have already made the first move while AC Milan seem to only show interest in the player. Silvestre is dubbed to replace Lucio, who won’t continue with Inter next season, or come and replace Alessandro Nesta, who’s currently without a team and won’t be returning for another Rossoneri season.
