London 2012 – Which Clubs Sent the Most Players


Unlike other major tournament, the Olympic games football tournament isn’t exactly an an exact way of knowing who are the superpowers in the sport are right now, but big clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham managed to send more players (4 each) than any other team, along with Palermo, Chivas, Al-Ahly from Egypt and Atletico Madrid.

European finalists Bayern Munich have no players in the Olympic tournament, while Barcelona have three players in the Spanish squad. Real Madrid have one player, Marcelo, but he plays for Brazil. Italian champions Juventus also don’t have a player in the Olympic tournament, while Manchester City sent Micah Richards to the British squad.
