Girls just want to have fun, and it’s great to see athletes having fun instead of taking it serious all the time. The USA’s Women’s soccer team tend to be one of the more fun-to-watch sides in the world, on and off the field, this time showing their imitations skills by dancing around to ‘Party in the USA’ by Miley Cyrus.
After the Harvard guys did their van edition of ‘Call me maybe’ everyone started doing it. Party in the USA isn’t that much of a new song and the days of it being a hit or Miley Cyrus being interesting are a bit gone (and thanks for that), but there’s nothing like good ol’ fashioned patriotism ahead of the Olympic games.
Not everyone from the 18-women group that includes Alex Morgan, Christie Rampone, Hope Solo, Lauren Cheney, Tobin Heath, Heather O’Reilly, Kelley O’Hara, Sydney Leroux, Nicole Barnhart, Jill Loyden, Heather Mitts, Shannon Boxx, Carli Lloyd, Amy LePeilbet, Rachel Buehler, Becky Sauerbrunn, Megan Rapinoe, Lori Lindsey and Amy Rodriguez are the best of lip synchers or dancers in the world, but the important thing is having and making people have fun with videos like these.
On the pitch, this team or at least part of it has won the last two Gold Medals. The USA Women’s teams have won three of the last four Olympic tournaments, and they’re favorites to win it this time as well.
