The transfer window isn’t over yet, but with the 2012-2013 Premier League season beginning on Saturday, most of the teams have already completed their signings, with Manchester United (Van Persie, Kagawa), Chelsea (Hazard, Oscar) and Arsenal (Giroud, Podolski, Cazorla) making most of the news during the summer.

Arsenal

Lukas Podolski – The 27 year old German forward will play for the first in his career for a club outside Germany, spending the last three seasons with FC Koln, scoring 18 goals last season that didn’t help the club avoid relegation. Podolski cost £10.9 million.

Olivier Giroud – The French striker came out of nowhere last season, scoring 21 goals to lead Montpellier to a shocking Ligue 1 title while co-leading the scoring charts in France. The 25 year old cost £12.8 million to bring over from the French champions, already playing 10 time for the national side, scoring one goal.

Santi Cazorla – Arsenal’s most expensive purchase this summer, coming at a price of £16.5 million from financially-strapped Malaga, who are selling anyone who’s worth anything. The 27 year old international enjoyed his best season last year with Malaga, scoring 9 goals, helping them to a fourth place finish in the La Liga.

Aston Villa

Brett Holman – 28 year old Australian winger who arrived at Villa Park on a free transfer from AZ Alkmaar after four seasons with the Dutch club, scoring 4 goals and adding 10 assists last season.

Karim El Ahmadi – Another transfer from the Dutch Eredivisie, arriving for an estimated £2 million. A Morocco international, El Ahmadi played for Feyenoord last season and is usually deployed as a defensive midfielder.

Matthew Lowton – A 23 year old all-rounder who can play multiple defensive and even midfield postiions, Lowton was purchased for £3 million from Sheffield United after scoring six goals for the club last season.

Ron Vlaar – Another Feyenoord signing, Vlaar is a centre back who arrived for £3.2 million. A nine time Dutch international, Vlaar has been with Feyenoord since 2006 but has only started impressing since returning from a long injury in 2009, helping the Rotterdam club to a second place finish last season.

Chelsea

Marko Marin – 23 Year old German international who was born in the former Yugoslavia, arriving for £7 million from Werder Bremen. A winger who can also play as an attacking midfielder, Marin isn’t one to score much with only one goal last season and a total of 19 in his career.

Eden Hazard – The signing for Chelsea this summer, costing £32 million. Hazard, 21, won the Ligue 1 player of the year two times in a row, leading Lille to a title and another Champions league berth, scoring 27 goals and adding 15 assists over the last two seasons. Chelsea also purchased his younger brother, Thorgan Hazard, from Lens for £2 million.

George Brady – 16 year old nephew of Karren Brady, arriving for £0.25 million from Cannes.

Oscar – A long saga that eventually ended well for Chelsea, landing the 20 year old Brazilian from Internacional for £25 million. Oscar played well for Brazil in the Olympic tournament and already has 7 appearances for the national team.

Everton

Steven Naismith – Another one from the huge exodus from Rangers in Scotland, Naismith’s fee has yet to have been decided. The 25 year old Scotland international plays in the midfield, missing most of last season due to a serious ligament injury. He scored 20 goals in his last couple of season with Rangers.

Steven Pienaar – Back at Everton after playing on loan for the Toffees last season and being owned by the club from 2008 to 2011. Pienaar cost £4.5m to arrive from Tottenham.

Fulham

No money spent by the Cottagers, signing Mladen Petric from Hamburg for free – The Croatian international, 31, has scored 38 goals in 98 appearances for the German club since 2008. Another free arrival was Hugo Rodallega, the Colombian forward from Wigan, who scored only 2 goals last season for Roberto Martinez’ club. Sascha Riether, 29, arrived on loan from FC Koln.

Liverpool

Fabio Borini – The 21 year old Italian striker has already played for Brendan Rodgers at Wigan and the Chelsea youth system. He arrived for £10 million from Roma after scoring 9 goals in 24 Serie A matches last season.

Joe Allen – Another former Rodgers player, Allen, 22, arrived for £15 million from Swansea after playing his entire career for the Swans. He played for Great Britain in the Olympics and has notched 9 caps for Wales since his debut in 2009.

Oussama Assaidi – Nearly completed, a 24 year old Moroccan winger who played for Heerenveen over the last fews seasons, scoring 19 goal in the last two.

Manchester City

Jack Rodwell – The only arrival so far for Manchester City, the 21 year old central midfielder arrived from Everton for £12 million, with few believing he actually has a chance of playing much next season.

Manchester United

Shinji Kagawa – The Japanese attacking midfielder cost United £12 million which could rise to 17 with add-ons. He’s 23 and was a huge part of Dortmund’s two title wins, scoring 21 goals in 49 matches over the last couple of seasons

Nick Powell – One for the future, the 18 year old cost United £6 million to bring over from Crewe. The England U-18 striker scored 14 goals in 38 matches last season.

Robin van Persie – THE transfer of the summer, Van Persie cost £24 million to finally bring over from Arsenal. Van Persie scored 30 league goals last season for United, leading the Premier League and winning the PFA player of the year award.

Newcastle

Vurnon Anita – Chased a right back all summer, eventually getting a defensive midfielder from Ajax, costing £6.7 million. Anita, 23, was a vital part for Ajax’s two title wins the last couple of seasons, making three appearances for the Dutch national team.

Romain Amalfitano came from Reims on a free transfer; Gael Bigirimana of Burndi came from Coventry; Curtis Good came from Melbourne for £0.5 million.

Norwich

Steven Whittaker – The 28 year old right back is another one from the Rangers exodus, leaving for free after five seasons and three league titles with the club. Whittaker has 15 appearances for the Scottish national side.

Jacob Butterfield – A 22 year old midfielder who arrived on a free transfer from Barnsley after five seasons with the Championship side.

Robert Snodgrass – Another Scotland man who only recently began playing for the national side, Snodgrass arrived from Leeds after four seasons with the club. He scored 13 goals for Leeds last season, playing in the Championship.

Michael Turner – Turner never lived up to his price or expectations at Sunderland, getting the exit OK after three seasons with the Black Cats.

QPR

One of the busiest sides, mostly using out of contract veterans to fill up the roster. Robert Green came from West Ham after six seasons with the Hammers, helping them win back their spot in the premier league; Ryan Nelsen, the New Zealand defender who never really got a chance with Tottenham; Andy Johnson of Fulham, who has never really made it back from injury in 2010, scoring only six goals these last two seasons; Samba Diakité, a 23 year old Malian arriving from Nancy from £3.5 million; Park Ji-Sung came over from Manchester United after 7 seasons and 4 Premier League titles and Junior Hoilett, the Canadian forward, coming from Blackburn after scoring 7 goals for Rovers last year.

Reading

Busy, busy, busy – Garath McCleary (25, winger) from Nottingham Forest; Danny Guthrie (25, midfielder) from Newcastle; Pavel Pogrebnyak , who did really well for Fulham last season with six goals in 12 matches; Pierce Sweeney from Bray; Nicky Shorey from WBA making his return to the club; Adrian Mariappa (25, defender) from Watford and Chris Gunter from Nottingham Forest for £2.3 million.

Southampton

Maybe Gaston Ramirez from Bologna for £20 million, but that’s not clear yet. Other arrivals are Jay Rodriguez from Burnley, a striker who scored 15 goals last season; Steven Davis, another former Rangers player; Nathaniel Clyne , a 21 year old full back arriving from Crystal Palace and Paulo Gazzaniga , an Argentinian goalkeeper from Gillingham.

Stoke City

Jamie Ness, a 21-year old midfielder is another one of the Rangers leavers; Michael Kightly arrived from Wolves after never really making it with the club during their Premier League years; Geoff Cameron, a 27 year old American all-rounder, coming from Houston for £2.5 million.

Sunderland

All free transfers – Carlos Cuellar , the Spanish defender from Aston Villa; Louis Saha, 34, after spending last season with Everton and Spurs, and two 18 year olds – David Ferguson from Darlington and Wade Joyce from Bury.

Swansea

Purchased 3 players – 25 year-old Spaniard Chico (José Manuel Flores Moreno) from Genoa, who played last season quite succesfuly for Mallorca; 26 year-old Michu from Rayo Vallecano, scoring 15 goals for the Spanish club last season; and 21-year old Kyle Bartley from Arsenal, never actually playing for the Gunners.

Tottenham

Gylfi Sigurdsson – The Icelandic attacking midfielder came for £8 million from Hoffenheim, but made a real impression on loan last season playing for Swansea, scoring 7 goals in 18 matches.

Jan Vertonghen – The Belgium international arrived from Ajax for £9 million. He won the Dutch Footballer of the Year award last season after winning the title with Ajax.

West Brom

Two loans – Yassine El Ghanassy, the young winger from Gent and Romelu Lukaku of Chelsea, another Belgian player. Markus Rosenborg came over after five seasons with Werder Bremen, and Ben Foster was signed for ₤4 million from Birmingham City after playing on loan for WBA last season.

West Ham

Busy offseason as well – Jussi Jääskeläinen from Bolton; Mohamed Diamé from Wigan; George McCartney from Sunderland; Modibo Maïga from Souchaux; Raphael Spiegel from Grasshoppers; James Collins from Aston Villa and Alou Diarra, the France international who impressed in Euro 2012, from Marseille.

Wigan

Signed Ivan Ramis, the Mallorca centre back since 2004 after a fantastic season; Arouna Kone, the Ivorian striker from Sevilla who played for Levante last season; 19 year old Fraser Fyvie of Aberdeen, who’s been dubbed as the next Paul Scholes; Ryo Miachi of Arsenal on loan.
