The financial hits felt all over Europe took Spain a bit more severely than anywhere else, shown by the lack of big transfers made across the board, with Real Madrid not signing even one player. Jordi Alba to Barcelona was the single double-digit transfer during the Spanish summer, heading into the 2012-2013 season in the La Liga.
Athletic Bilbao
Aritz Aduriz – Aduriz makes his return to Bilbao for a third spell with the club after two seasons with Valencia, in which the 31 year old striker scored 17 goals in 56 league matches. His fee was €2 million. Bilbao also added 22 year old Ismael Lopez from Lugo on a free transfer.
Atletico Madrid
Daniel Diaz – After 5 seasons with Getafe, the 33 year old centre back was purchased for €1 million.
Cristian Rodriguez – Something that might be a fantastic bargain, landing the Uruguayan international from Porto for free. At 26, Rodriguez needs to try and get over his injury problems, but might turn out to be a very productive winger with Atletico.
Emre Belozoglu – Another free transfer, Emre now adds the La Liga to England and Italy in leagues he’s played in, excluding the obvious Turkish answer. The 31 year old midfielder had a very good season in 2011-2012 with Fenerbahce, missing out on the title but scoring a career high six goals during the league campaign.
Osasuna

Celta Vigo
Making their return to the La Liga, Vigo’s big purchase was Argentinian Augusto Matías Fernández from Velez. The 26 year old winger came for €1.5 million after two years with Velez. Barcelona
Just one, the fantastic Jordi Alba from Valencia for €14 million. The 23 year old left back who can also play in a more attacking role on the flank really impressed playing for Spain during Euro 2012, although like the entire U-23 setup, disappointed in London. He has been with Valencia for three seasons, scoring 5 goals and adding 5 assists last season.
Getafe
Miguel Angel Moya – The 28 year old goalkeeper was purchased for €1.8 million from Valencia after having a very good season with Getafe last season, playing on loan.

Valencia
Jonathan Viera – A 22 year old attacking midfielder who arrived from Las Palmas for €2.5 million. Has 15 goals in 60 appearances for his previous and only club.
