Charl Schwartzel Missing Three Consecutive 2 Feet Putts

Instead of challenging for the title and big check at the Deutsche Bank Championship, Charl Schwartzel plummeted to 45th place after a terrible round of 18, which included missing three putts from less than two feet away, resulting in his fifth double bogey of the day.

The 28 year old South African golfer entered the day as the fifth placed golfer, but after two hours he was nearly out of the top 50, reaching the 14th hole with a small chance to somehow make it back into the top 20, but instead of coming up with an easy birdie, Schwartzel continued his terrible meltdown.

Schwartzel won the Masters tournament in 2011, which is actually the last tournament he has won on the PGA or European Tour, finishing 50th in this year’s Masters, 38th in the US Open, missing the cut in the Open championship and finishing 59th at the PGA Championship. Louis Oosthuizen, another South African, is the current leader heading into the final day of the tournament.
