Atlanta Falcons – John Abraham Next to Get Himself Arrested

John Abraham felt envious that Michael Turner celebrated a win by getting drunk, pulled over and arrested for a DUI. The Atlanta Falcons pass rusher decided he’ll do it differently, finding himself in trouble for on two misdemeanor obstruction charges, remaining in custody through Monday night.

Beating the Denver Broncos calls for celebration. Beating the San Diego Chargers, another AFC West team, probably the best in the division as they squared off against the Falcons in the battle of the 2-0 teams, falls into that category. But Abraham didn’t pull off something that’s anything like Turner or what you’d expect from an NFL player getting arrested.

Abraham allegedly entered a taped-off, where firefighters were responding to a call about a woman threatening to jump off a building. It’s unclear whether Abraham has any relations to the person, but Abraham was arrested after refusing to leave the area. The woman did not jump or end up being harmed in any way, while the 34 year old pro bowler was charged with obstruction of police and obstruction of firefighters.

Abraham recorded two tackles and a sack just a day earlier in the win over the San Diego Chargers. He is the all time leader for the Falcons in sacks, recording 60.5 since joining the team in 2006 from the New York Jets.
