Saturday will the major day of the weekend, kicking off with the biggest match, the London derby between Arsenal and first place Chelsea going at it at the Emirates, while Manchester United close the day by hosting Tottenham at Old Trafford. Champions Manchester City have a tough visit at Fulham, while Liverpool will try and get their first win of the season at Norwich.

Arsenal vs Chelsea (12:45)

Chelsea are positioned at the top of the Premier League with 13 points out of a possible 15, but they haven’t played well since the 4-1 loss in the European Super Cup against Atletico Madrid. Arsenal have drawn three of their five matches so far, but conceded only two goals and have played very well since their visit to Stoke, showing their ability to comeback in the Champions League and against Manchester City, making them slight favorites for the match. Something suggests that Arsenal are for real, and will win this one.

Everton vs Southampton (15:00)

Just after winning their first match, Southampton go and visit the hottest team in the Premier League. They just beat Aston Villa 4-1, putting them above the relegation zone, but Everton have beaten Swansea in Wales 3-0, with Marouane Fellaini being the early candidate for players of the season after scoring 3 goals. Nikola Jelavic is back in the lineup for the Toffees, as Everton should win this one.

Fulham vs Manchester City (15:00)

Manchester City have won only once in their last six matches, and a visit to Fulham doesn’t seem like the best way to restart their title defense, currently four points behind league leaders Chelsea. Their draw against Arsenal at home suggests that the problem of finishing games is still there, while Fulham’s aggressive style is likely to give them some problems at Craven Cottage. Problem? Berbatov is out with an injury, while City will miss Jack Rodwell. The return of Nasri and Berbatov out, this is probably going to be a win for City.

Norwich vs Liverpool (15:00)

Norwich expected to be struggling early this season, but not by this much, scoring only two goals in their first five matches. Still they have one point more than Liverpool, already with three losses and only two draws, conceding 10 goals in the five matches. Harry Kane will miss the match for Norwich, while Liverpool will be missing Jonjo Shelvey, Martin Kelly and possibly Fabio Borini. A match that is a must win for both sides, but Liverpool are probably more desperate, and do have the better side.

Reading vs Newcastle (15:00)

Reading are last in the premier league, losing their last three matches after a draw on opening day, and momentarily, look like the worst side in the Premier League, suffering from a lot of problems in their defense. Newcastle are without Fabricio Coloccini, Tim Krul and Danny Simpson, but with Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse they should the advantage and win their first away match of the season.

Stoke vs Swansea (15:00)

Stoke are off to a bad start, still win-less after the first five matches. All the compliments for the hard times they gave Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City don’t really matter after getting only 4 points in the start of the season, but their physical style against a slumping Swansea should prevail, losing their last two matches and missing out on a win since August, but having a couple of players coming back from injury. Stoke are the favorites to win this one, unless Laudrup works out a way to go around his problems facing rugged, hard nosed sides.

Sunderland vs Wigan

Wigan haven’t won a match since their 2-0 win over Southampton in week 2, while Sunderland haven’t won a single match, but haven’t lost one as well. They need to find someone else besides Steven Fletcher to score goals, with the former Wolves player scoring 4 goals so far. Lee Cattermole will be out on suspension, while Wigan will be missing Antolin Alcaraz and striker Franco Di Santo. Despite Wigan’s win in the League Cup, this should be Sunderland’s match.

Manchester United vs Tottenham (17:30)

Manchester keep playing badly, but they keep on winning. A Tottenham visit to Old Trafford is usually a guaranteed win, losing 3-0 in their visit last season, with Welbeck, Anderson and Rooney scoring the goals. Wayne Rooney is fit for the match but is still not a certain start alongside Van Persie, while Tottenham, who have won their last two matches, are sticking to Friedel at goal and are still without Scott Parker and Adebayor. Spurs aren’t playing well, despite the wins, and won’t win at Old Trafford.

Aston Villa vs West Brom (Sunday, 16:00)

Villa got crushed by Southampton, which doesn’t bode well for their midlands derby against West Brom, although Roy Hodgson’s side hasn’t won an away match this season so far. Lambert’s lads are without Stephen Ireland, in a match that looks like a draw in the making.

QPR vs West Ham (Monday, 20:00)

QPR are without three first team defenders – Anton Ferdinand, Jose Bosingwa and Fabio but might get Adel Taarabt back from injury, hoping to possibly win their first match of the season. West Ham have drawn their last two matches while Andy Carroll is still out with an injury. Looks like another draw on the cards, or a Hammers win.
