Some female tennis players gain their fame thanks to their ability and the long list of titles they’ve won. Some become icons because of their looks, and less because of their skills. Ana Ivanovic is a popular choice for hottest tennis player on the planet, who used to be about both her achievements and looks, but now gets by mostly on her physical features.
In 2007, at the age of 19, Ivanovic broke onto the scene by being more than just a pretty face. She reached the French Open final and a month later impressed at Wimbledon, losing in the semifinal. Clearly, destined for greatness. In 2008, at the age of 20, she won her first and only Grand Slam title at the Roland Garros, reaching the world number one spot.
Since that day, she never made it to a Grand Slam quarter final until this year’s US Open. More than four years. After winning a total of six titles in 2007 & 2008, she’s won only three from 2009 to 2011. In 2012, it has been somewhat of a comeback year for her, but it hasn’t helped reach any single’s tournaments finals. At least, thanks to her modelling career, earning money isn’t a problem. She can continue to lose early on in tournaments, knowing that there’s something to fall back on.
