Boca Juniors Fans Let Everyone Know it’s Derby Day

With River Plate back in the top division, one of the greatest rivalries in all of sports can be renewed, with Boca Juniors once again able to play their nemesis. The match between the two ended in a 2-2 draw at the Estadio Monumental, but as with plenty of rivalries, it what happens with the fans of this thing that makes it so special.

First of all, Boca – River means a lot of violence, which also returned to the Boca stands mostly, throwing a River Plate steward down the steps. Fan clashes were expected before and after the match, inside and outside the stadium. Nothing new, and nothing out of the ordinary really happened.

It was quite touching to see River Plate fans crying after they scored their first goal against Boca in over a year. Later, they were probably crying because they lost the lead. But the most impressive thing on derby day happened before the Superclasico, as thousands of Boca fans marching to the stadium out of the viaduct on the Av. Libertador.
