Despite the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo seems to be smiling and happy again after a mini drama that last a couple of weeks and seems to be forgotten, there will always be rumors about his departure from Real Madrid as long as there are clubs with deeper pockets, like Paris Saint-Germain, who might be interested in signing him and his manager, Jose Mourinho.
A lot of times, both of them are thrown into imaginary deals together because they have the same agent. And while unlikely as it may sound, Ronaldo’s rift with his club just after the season started proved that he’s all about titles and winning, but money is extremely important to him. As PSG rise through the ranks of European football, playing for them offers a chance to win titles both in domestic and European competitions, while improving his salary and making him the highest paid player in the world.
Ronaldo has some ridiculous release fee at €1 billion, which usually means step the f%^& away from him. But who knows. The rumors around certain Italian newspapers suggest that an offer of €100 million for both Ronaldo and Mourinho, plus a salary of €18 million per season will be enough for them to get their hands on the Portuguese star.
Ronaldo’s contract runs out in 2015, but the talks are of making an offer this summer for the tandem, which might make Carlo Ancelotti feel a bit uneasy in his position, despite taking over the first place in the French League quite recently. He came in for another manager who was leading Ligue 1 at the time. There are no sentiments, just a desire for bigger names at some clubs. Cristiano Ronaldo has still not negotiated the news terms he needs, but apparently he got a promise from Florentino Perez that he’ll be upgraded soon enough.
He’s having another explosive start to the season at Madrid, scoring 11 goals through the first 9 league matches; 18 out of 14 in all competitions. Since arriving at Madrid in 2009, he has scored 123 goals in 110 league matches, and is once again nominated for the Ballon d’Or, an award he has won after the 2007-2008 season.
