Rumors are one thing, reality is another. While news of Manchester City hoping to get their hands on Luis Suarez of Liverpool to improve their striker situation, both clubs and the Uruguayan striker are denying anything is progressing in that direction.
Maybe there is some substance in it, but maybe it’s just adding one and one together: Mario Balotelli seems to be on his way out of Manchester City, and it’s only the best replacements for them. Seeing as Falcao, the number one striker on the market right now, is heading either to Real Madrid or Chelsea, according to more rumors, Luis Suarez was the easiest name to latch on to.
One thing you learn from following football is that you should never believe players and clubs, no matter what they declare. At the moment, Manchester City are rubbishing anything that has to do with this transfer; Brendan Rodgers is saying that he isn’t planning on letting Suarez go anytime soon. Luis Suarez himself?

Suarez joined Liverpool from Ajax during the 2011 January transfer window, signing a five year contract after a transfer fee of £22.8 million. Since his arrival he has scored 31 goals in 67 matches (all competitions for the club) while the team’s performances under both Kenny Dalglish and Brendan Rodgers have been mostly disappointing, despite Suarez.
This season, he has scored 8 league goals, 57.1% of the clubs league goals this season. In total he has 11 goals and 4 assists in 16 matches, making him pretty much involved in almost every positive thing that has happened so far this season for Liverpool, which is only enough for 13th in the Premier League and questionable qualification from their group in the Europa League.
