Transfer Rumors 2013 – Real Madrid Want Gareth Bale

Some things are always known, but need a special event to lift them once against from under the surface and get a little bit of dust off. When he’s on form, and not busy diving, Gareth Bale is one of the more electrifying players in Europe, and it seems like Tottenham isn’t going to be his home forever. Real Madrid, once again, look like the club in pole position to make a move.

Despite the tension-filled summer in the Luka Modric negotiations, it seems like both clubs are in good terms, and willing to do business with each other. Just as Real Madrid continue to dive deeper into their problems just before the Christmas break, Gareth Bale had a fantastic performance by scoring a hat trick against Aston Villa in the 4-0 win by Spurs.

We’re just at the half way line of the season, and it’s clear this is yet another “best” for Gareth Bale, scoring nine league goals through the first 17 matches, already tying his career high from last season. It’ll also mean that his price may be already climbing past the €40 million mark.

Andre Villas-Boas knows the business, and immediately after the win over Villa said that very few clubs in the world will be able to afford Bale once any kind of negotiations begin. Unlike Modric, Bale hasn’t been hinting at a desire to leave Spurs, who are currently tied for fourth in the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho is very enthusiastic about the skills of Bale; has been for quite some time. However, recent events tell us that Mourinho might no longer be with the club once the time to begin signing players for next season is here, and it will mostly be up to Florentino Perez to come up with the right kind of drive and obviously funds in the attempt to sign the Welsh winger, enjoying more attacking and creative freedom than ever before under Villas-Boas.
