There’s no way Brazil will be holding a World Cup for the first time in more than 60 years and not have a new kit design in honor of the occasion. As all new football shirts tend to do, the new Brazilian shirts for the 2014 World Cup leaked out three weeks before they were supposed to.
The intention is to do something of a retro, making the shirts look like those from the 1990 World Cup, although for some reason it’s hard to imagine why the men who make the decisions went with that specific year, unless they really love the shirts. The Brazilians were knocked out in the round of 16 by Argentina, probably drugged with the water if some allegations (and admissions) are to be believed.
In any case, the shirt is obviously a darker shade of yellow, with green at the collar and a the tip of the sleeves, very similar to that of 23 years ago, just with more stars above the crest, thanks to winning the World Cups of 1994 and 2002.
