The three most recruited states in College Football are Florida, California and Texas. No one recruits better beyond state lines than Bob Stoops and Oklahoma, with a strong foothold in Texas. Nick Saban and Alabama do great about everywhere while other schools like Clemson, Oregon and Ohio State do very well beyond borderlines as well.

Oregon Ducks in California

Oregon have recruited five players from Califronia over 2012, most notably DeAnthony Thomas, Devon Blackmon and Arik Armstead in the last couple of seasons alone. They have only one top 300 recruit coming out of the state this season (Tyree Robinson from San Diego) but they have two more four-star recruits coming in from San Diego: Darren Carrington and Tyrell Robinson.

USC Trjoans out of Florida – USC are currently under some scholarship bans, and despite having such a rich and fertile pool of talent in Califronia, they also go to Florida, recruiting six top 300 players from their over the last few years, including Nickell Robey and Leonard Williams. One of the best safeties coming out of high school will play for the team in 2013, Leon McQuay III.

Florida State Seminoles out of Georgia – Everyone tries to recruit from Florida, so it’s a good idea expanding, just a bit. The Seminoles have gotten six players from the Peach state over the last five seasons, Greg Reid being their best find. It does look like they’re moving back to search in Florida, with only one commitment for 2013 from the neighbouring state, defensive end Davin Bellamy.

Alabama Crimson Tide from Florida

Alabama recruit wonderfully pretty much everywhere. They have 7 players from Florida in the past five seasons and 7 from Georgia as well. Their number one recruit for 2013 is coming out of Yulee, Florida (Derrick Henry, 9th prospect in the nation). Amari Cooper, Trent Richardson, Ha’Sean Clinton-Dix and Chris Black are also from Florida.

Ohio State Buckeyes from Florida – Urban Meyer who won two national titles with Florida has nothing to do with the previous 7 recruits over the last five years to come out of the state and go to Columbus, but he does have a verbal commitment from top 150 prospect Joey Bosa, a defensive tackle.

Clemson Tigers out of Florida – Jamie Harper, Kyle Parker, Tony Steward and obviously Sammy Watkins are among the bigger names Clemson have lured away from Florida and to the orange side of South Carolina. They don’t have a top prospect coming out of the state at the moment for 2013, settling for two four-star prospects.

Auburn Tigers out of Georgia

Gene Chizik got more recruits of Georgia than any other program other than the Bulldogs between 2008-2012, getting 8 players during he tenure in Auburn. That line seems to be changing with Guz Malzahn. They have the nation’s number 2 prospect, Carl Lawson, with a verbal, but there’s time to change that. Two juco commits, defensive tackle Ben Bradley and athlete Nick Marshall, call Georgia home as well.

Oklahoma Sooners out of Texas

Except for the Longhorns, no one recruits better than Bob Stoops in Texas; Oklahoma have had more Texan recruits since 2008 than Texas Tech, TCU, Baylor and Houston combined with 14, and out-recruiting Texas A&M as well. They have four ESPN 300 recruits committed for 2013, including Keith Ford, the number two prospect coming out of the lone star state.
