Not too many people were happy when it was announced that Qatar will be the hosts of the 2022 World Cup, and allegations of bribery and other illegal suggestions came floating into the air, throwing FIFA once again into the arms of a corruption controversy.
Human rights, weather and the ability of the nation to host such an event were called into question, but Sepp Blatter didn’t budge. He did say he’ll clean up the corruption in FIFA, but a good enough answer as to why a host was needed to be chosen so many years in advance was never given, and the suspicions as to why Qatar was chosen remained.
According to France Football, they have evidence proving Qatar has been chosen to host the 2022 World Cup by bribing, promising future updates very soon. According to the magazine, n a meeting between the then-French president Nicolas Sarkozy, Michel Platini and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and the UEFA president’s subsequent vote for Qatar’s bid.
