Juan Carlos Garcia Scores The Best Goal on International Day

The new era of American Soccer with Jurgen Klinsmann took a clip on the wings in its inaugural flight against Honduras in San Pedro Sula, losing 2-1 despite going up first, before conceding an incredibly bicycle kick goal from Juan Carlos Garcia, setting up the winning goal later on in the match.

Garcia, a 24 year old left back, plays his club football for Olimpia, Honduras’ biggest club. He simply waited in the middle of the box while the rather new American defense simply didn’t move to respond with incoming crosses from corner kicks and then from the other wing. Garcia was the first to react to the bounce, and score a fantastic goal.

Honduras were the only nation to grab a win at the beginning of the Hexagonal group, putting them at the top spot to open the final stage of the Concacaf qualifying tournament – three teams make it into the world cup, while the fourth has to play in a play-off match against (probably) New Zealand. Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica and Jamaica are also in the group.
