If getting Neymar seems to be a rather mission impossible at the moment, the younger, very similar version of the Santos star is also an option. Chelsea and Manchester United are both about to enter a bidding war for 18-year old Neilton, who still hasn’t made it into the senior squad.
Neymar is barely out of his teens, but Neilton, who looks quite like the biggest star Brazilian football have to offer, is already dubbed as the next one, so far showing his talent for the U-19 Santos side, including a recent hat-trick against Palmeiras in the semi-finals of the Copa Sao Paulo Under-19s’ tournament, grabbing the attentions of many in Brazil and outside of it.
Unlike Neymar, Neilton won’t be so problematic to get out of Brazil. He has a release clause fee of £5 million, which means Chelsea, who are a bit keener on the player, but also United, who are at the moment sort of bystanders, waiting for developments, need to act quickly. Rumors suggest that Santos are trying to come to terms on a new deal with the youngster, one that will not allow him to leave them so cheaply.
Chelsea have been linked to Neymar as well, thinking that his visit to London might be a good chance to try and get closer with the crown jewel of Santos and Brazilian football at the moment. You never know what happens behinds closed doors, but at the moment, there doesn’t seem to be any movement regarding Neymar, staying with Santos, and not showing any sort of weakness to the offers coming at him from Europe, especially Barcelona, Real Madrid and now Chelsea.
