It’s been nearly a decade since Arsenal and Bayern Munich met in the Champions League. Bayern came out on top in that two-leg clash eight years ago, and it seems, according to form and quality of players, that they’re likely to make it through once again. Arsenal are going through what might be their worst season under Arsene Wenger. They’re fifth in the Premier League, four points behind Tottenham inside the top 4, and have already been knocked out of both cup competitions  losing a few days ago to Blackburn in the FA Cup in a home match. They are doing slightly better in the league, winning three of their last four matches. They barely made it out of the group stage in the UCL, finishing one point above Olympiacos. Lukas Podolski, with 3 goals, is their top scorer in the Champions League.

Bayern Munich are doing a little differently. Bayern have pretty much sealed up the title in the Bundesliga (their first since 2010), having a 15 point lead over Dortmund. They haven’t lost a league match since October, and have conceded only 3 goals in the 13 matches since. They easily made it through the group stage with 13 points out of 18, losing once to BATE Borisov. Mario Mandzukic is their top scorer with 15 league goals this season and two more in the Champions League.
