When you’re not going to make the postseason and not going to beat the hottest (and best) team in the NBA, all you have is celebrating small victories, like impressive individual plays – Jrue Holiday breaking away for a huge dunk over LeBron James.
For a moment, it looked like the shot that might give Philly the win, and end the Heat’s winning streak. Instead, it just galvanized the Heat towards a strong finish, a 98-94 win, reaching 20 consecutive victories, after Holiday’s dunk over James after breaking away from the Heat’s defense made it 91-91 with 1:20 left in the fourth quarter.
Holiday finished the game with 21 points (9-18 from the field), seven rebounds, seven assists, three steals and one block in 42 minutes. It didn’t help the Sixers avoid another loss, falling to 24-40 this season.
