Marc Gasol Knocks Ball Away From Derrick Favors With Shoe

Being the premier Gasol brother these days means Marc Gasol needs to do some original stuff to justify that statement, and using his shoe to stop and foul Derrick Favors is certainly one of the more imaginative ways to get yourself noticed.

During the Utah Jazz’ 90-84 win over the Memphis Grizzlies, Marc Gasol lost his shoe on a Memphis attack after being stepped on. While crying to the referees to halt the play so he can set his affairs in order, a teammate picked up the shoe and handed it to him, while the Jazz kept playing during their own possession.

With no call coming, Gasol understood it was on him to make something happen, so he simply smacked the ball away from Favors using his shoe, and while most of the home fans were looking for a technical foul, the referees simply treated it as a hard foul. Gasol played 41 minutes despite his 5 fouls, finishing the game with 11 points and 6 rebounds.
