All Jason Terry wanted was not to turn over the ball, but while the rest of the Boston Celtics were thinking offense, he was ganged up on by four Miami Heat players, who toyed with the ball around him after the steal before LeBron James finished with a vicious alley-oop dunk over his head while Terry was still trying to rectify his own mistake.
Of all the wins in the Miami Heat’s 23 game win streak, their 105-103 victory at the TD Garden over the Boston Celtics must be one of the more satisfying, with more than just the rivalry to satisfy their taste buds. It was the team’s first win in Boston (regular-season win, that is) since the Big Three era began, with James knocking down the game winning shot after a 37 point night from the MVP.
The Heat are now alone in second place for the longest winning streaks in NBA history, 10 wins behind the Los Angeles Lakers from 1972, and 11.5 games ahead of Indian in the Eastern conference, boasting a league best 52-14 record.
