Ajax vs PSV

As always, the Dutch Eredivisie provides one of the most exciting title races in Europe with four teams involved, although in the end, it’s more than likely to go where it usually does – either to the hands of Ajax, hoping to win their third league title in a row, or to PSV, hoping to avenge their loss from the first meeting this season. A match that might decide the fate of the title this season, and if you don’t know where to watch it, we’re here to help.

Ajax are currently in the lead of the league with 63 points after 29 matches, giving them two points over Vitesse who have player 30 matches, three over PSV who have played 29 and four over Feyenoord, also after 29 matches.

Ajax are in excellent form, going nine matches without a loss and winning their last five, conceding only three goals while scoring 16. In the league, their top scorer is Siem de Jong with 12 goals, followed by their two Danish stars, Viktor Fischer and Christian Eriksen, both scoring 8 goals each. Fischer was the star of the 3-1 win over PSV back in December 1, scoring the final goal after Siem de Jong and Danny Hoesen laid down the groundwork.

For PSV, it’s been quite a long time, five years, since their last league title, hoping to break their quite surprisingly long drought. They’ve lost twice out of their last six matches, both away to Feyenoord and Heerenveen, but are coming off a win against Willem II, 3-1, in Tilburg. Their top scorers this season are Georgino Wijnaldum (14 goals) and Dries Mertens (13 goals).
