We’re not used to seeing Thiago Silva scoring goals. In fact, he’s at 0 since arriving at PSG this season with the season nearing it’s end. In the 3-0 win over Nice, Silva did manage to put the ball in the net from the most impossible of angles, but it ended up being another beauty being disallowed, with the ball crossing the touchline prior to Silva swerving it into the open net.
Chasing a ball in the Nice box, Silva managed to get away from the keeper and the defender as the ball was racing towards the touchline. Just as it was making it way out, Silva managed to get his boot under it, chipping it with a slight swerve through the outside of his boot. The ball made a nice little looping trip in the air before landing in the net, but the amazing display of skill (and possibly some luck) was disallowed, correctly.
With the 3-0 win, PSG remain on top of the Ligue 1 table, nine points ahead of Marseille. Jeremy Menez, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Celement Chantome scored the goals in the rather comfortable victory, putting the team two wins away from securing their first league title since 1994.
