Transfer Rumors 2013 – Arsenal Interested in Paul Pogba

It’s been only one year away from the Premier League for French wonderkid Paul Pogba, shining from time to time this season with both his temperament and his long range shooting for Juventus, but he might be on his way back if Arsenal get their way.

According to the Daily Mirror, the 20 year-old isn’t the happiest of campers with the Italian champions. The life and not being guaranteed a place on the first team has made his first season in Italy, after being in England with Manchester United since 2009, a bit rougher than his time on the field might suggest, which is what Arsenal are counting on.

Paul Pogba

Pogba has already made quite a name for himself with a few incredible goals for Juventus this season (5 goals in 27 matches), earning a reputation as one of the more exiting growing talents in European football, already winning two caps for the senior French side.

But the ending to the season, with Pogba spitting towards an opponent after being slapped in the face wasn’t what he and Juventus were hoping for him. That, and also the racism that keeps affecting and plauging Italian football has made him consider a return to England, where he might have felt much better.

Juventus paid nothing for Pogba nearly a year ago, snatching him away from Manchester United, who might rue the day they didn’t do enough to keep this very talented player, which might be bring the right kind of attitude and confidence Arsenal have been missing for quite some time.

Even though they’re loaded in the midfield, not everyone from the group of attacking midfielders is going to stay, while Pogba brings something that no one on the team has in terms of his long range shooting ability and short-term on-pitch genius, which hopefully will expand as his career progresses.

It’s hard to see Juventus being too glad to sell this player, but as a club trying to find itself on solid financial footing in order to solidify its future as the top team in Italy and among the greatest in Europe, Juve might consider a good offer from Wenger, who went after Pogba and lost when he was only 16.
