Mario Chalmers Throws Ball on the Head of Roy Hibbert to Keep Possession

Even point guards like Mario Chalmers, all 6’2 of him, can cause some physical, unintentional pain to someone like Roy Hibbert, all 7’2 of him. How? By throwing the basketball on his head in order to give his team the ball on the inbound throw.

Early in the game between the Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers, Chalmers was struggling to keep the ball in play. In order to retain possession, he made quick decision to make the most of Roy Hibbert simply laying beneath him.

Chalmers was looking for any body part to make the play, but ended up hitting Roy Hibbert on the head, which actually worked out pretty well for the Heat on that play. It also led them, eventually and not directly, to a 114-96 win, taking a 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.
